I'm not sure what a "natural ocean pool" is and I've never heard of the pool at Avalon Reef called that but they do have a pretty interesting pool.
There are lounge chairs and potted plants in the pool and a nice swim up bar. But the Reef Club gets some really mixed reviews...many of them leaning toward the negative side. The location is tops and the hotel is beautiful but the service is the pits. Food is so so too. You may be seeing some low rates because you can either stay here with an all inclusive plan or an EP plan (no food or drink included). Maybe the low price you get was for the EP plan. It's sort of a waste to do the AI here, town is about 5 minutes away and there are alot of nice places to eat and drink and they are not very expensive. Another reason the price may be low is that the 9 year old would be staying free, only paying airfare. It's about a 35 minute boat ride from the dock in Cancun to Isla Mujeres. Sometimes when the Avalon picks you up at the airport (when they actually remember to pick you up  ), they get you too late to catch the ferry and it's a 4 hour wait until the next one. :-? |
