Thanks for the pics, I was very interested to see how beautiful the plants have become. We were there in 2008 only 2 weeks after it opened and there was very little vegetation at that time.

That BBQ looked cool!

Looks like a great trip, it is now 6 months later, but I just planned my first trip to Secrets Maroma in May 2011, and I was browsing the web for trip reports. I am so excited after seeing your pics, I am so glad to see all the socializing, my husband I are love to have a good time and hope to meet some fun people. Nothing like getting excited for a trip with other peoples trip reports! How often did you get into Playa, I love that city. Would you go in after dinner?

Great trip report... love all the pics! We're headed down in just under 4 months and are oretty excited!

Quick question if you dont mind. Was curious about the taxi ride into Playa... how long? Were taxi's readily available at the reports? And how much was the fare each way?

Thanks for sharing - Secrets Maroma is my all-time favorite resort - the food, service and beach cannot be beat!!!

That is our exact dates, April 30 - May 7th! We are coming from Seattle and leaving a 2 and 4 year old at home!!!! We will be ready for some serious relaxation and a lot of yummy drinks!

It was about a 15/20 minute taxi ride to Playa.
Easy ride.

The Taxi's were pretty easy to get. You can also have the concierge get a taxi and have it brought up for you. Very easy and enjoyable.
The cost for the taxi was $20. I was told not to accept more than $20 and to make sure and negotiate the price of the taxi fare before you get in.

We didn't go into playa at night. we went a few times, but during the day. hit the beach and 5th ave.
great time!
you'll love the resort. alot of socializing. get involved in some of the activities they have. Some are pretty fun. a big group of us usually hung out at the pool bar area...
I loved it. My wife and I would love to go back.

We will definately be a part of the pool bar crowd. I won't go to a resort without a swim up bar. We have always stayed in Playa, but this trip we want to have a bit more of a relaxed feel to it. I love Playa and still want to go in for some nightlife and shopping.

on May 6th. I can't wait. We were at RPDC last May. Loved it.
