Dinner at Alux?

Hola all.
Arriving next Friday for my 2nd visit to PDC, first time was 6 years ago. I went to Alux for drinks back then, was wondering how is the food? Would like to have one luxury dinner during our stay & Alux is a pretty cool setting. Is it worth it to have dinner there?

Gregg

Unless something drastic has happened over the last 3 years, then I would say NO to dinner there. It is @ $30 US dollars a person with no drinks. It is a nice place to visit though..

We were just at Alux in May. Its a very cool place just to see. We only had drinks there and it was quite expensive. I think our drinks were $18 usd each. I don't even know what we ordered, but it was probably the cheapest drinks on the bar menu. Some drinks were $30 usd each. The drinks were VERY strong. I dont know how the food is, as we didn't eat there, but I can only imagine the prices.

Enjoy your vacation in Playa.

If you decide to pass on Alux, I recommend John Gray's......fabulous dinner! I've been hearing great things about Byblos as well.

Yes, I am serious. It was a shock to us, too. But it was our first time there, so I didn't mind too much. It was worth it to see the place. But, I more then likely won't be going back again.

I've been there twice.
First time, the service was so horrible we left.
Second time, we had one round of drinks, looked around and left.
We certainly didn't pay those kind of prices.

It is a beautiful place, but not worth getting ripped off.

And the consensus seems to be - avoid being ripped off. Looks like I'll stop in to show the woman around, maybe have a drink but have dinner elsewhere.

Luv2Dance - I've read good things about John Gray's and Byblos too. maybe we'll try one of those

I am soooooooooooooo ready for 10 days in paradise. This is the first vacation me & my girlfriend have taken without our kids.

Disagree

Have only been there one time for dinner and drinks....dinner was ok, not bad, but nothing to rave about....the place is incredible. I only found the prices a bit high and nothing our of line, especially for the fantastic atmosphere...experience I think anyone would enjoy and not out of line prices for the experience

it is worth a trip and a drink, the place is amazing

We were at Alux a while back to show some friends. Beers were 40 pesos and cocktails were 60 to 90 pesos ($5 to $8 +-) $18 USD is over 200 pesos and I would suggest NO WAY.Didn't eat
