skydiving in Playa Del Carmen

Has anyone been to "Skydive Playa"? I have a few questions: 1.) How old do you have to be to skydive? 2.) How long is the whole process(with training, take-off, dive, return, etc)? 3.)It's pricey to buy the video..any way for someone to video from the ground? 4.) How far do you land from where you take off? 5.) Is Skydive Playa located right in town/easy to get to by collectivo or taxi?
Thanks to all who have any info))) We leave in 6 days!!!))

My wife and I did dive with Skydive Playa. It was one of the greatest things I have ever done! It's located next to Senor Frogs. You land on the beach 2 minutes away. Training was less than 5 minutes, 5 min. ride to airport, 15-20 min. ride up to 11,500 feet, jump was the greatest 5 min. of your life. It is pricey, and photograhper was about $130, but that's per person. If money wasn't an issue i would do it a few times every trip!

You might try this link to their website. If the information you require is not there, they offer a link to contact them.

Oh my god, you would really jump out of a perfectly good plane!

Not just that you are giving it as a gift

Please do not meet my husband while having a beer in Playa and give him any ideas

All the power to you all, I am just such a chicken. My youngest and I did Parasailing off a Boat in Jan 1 2010 out in the water and that was a huge feat for me!!

Gives me goose bumps.

I would love to come and sit on a deck, have a few bevies right near the beach where they land. I bet that's got some fun viewing, well we Canadians would so love that type of viewing and we would cheer our butts off.

Good luck finding your SkyDiving!!

erm ok no, i confess i would never be brave enough to do it myself hahaha. the idea was i'd find room in the budget for him and his best man to go! im terrified of heights, he took me cliff jumping once (where you jump off small cliffs into water) and i was shaking like a leaf the entire time, not to mention the fact it took me forever to work up the courage to jump.never again!!

it was either that or his other big dream - flying lessons. and i cant for the life of me find simple lessons without becoming a commercial pilot! maybe its my lack of fluent spanish =S

ive had to ask him his weight already without explaining why(99 kilo limit and i knew he was in the 90s) so ill wait a few weeks and casually find out whether it seems to be something he really wants to do (or its the kind of idea thats great in theory but not in practice!)

sounds like a great idea! and from a selfish perspective would be great to see a more recent review.

it is meant to be an incredible experience and if you've been wondering about it for a while, maybe you should just go for it!
