Last night while walking to Cpt. Dave's on 10th (although it isn't really called that anymore, why do we keep calling it that?) I saw a little stand on 8th street, between 5th and 10th avenues, on the south side of the street just before you reach 10th ave. They had "tortas ahogadas" written on the side, but I haven't tried them yet. Maybe a recon mission is in order??

Guess what I had for dinner last night?? The tortas ahogadas stand is very clean and the owner (?) was very friendly. The tortas themselves were delicious, and I wish I had one right now. I don't know exactly how much they cost each because I didn't count my change, but I think it was under 35 pesos each.

One or two tortas shouldn't require too much higher math to figure the cost! Are you trying to reestablish cred on those big eater claims that were recently challenged on the Chichen Itza tour? |

but I bought one for my bf. I just glanced at my change quickly before tossing it in my purse, and once it's in that abyss, there's no telling for sure how much it was. It was around 33 or 35 pesos, I'd guess. |
