Must sees in Playa

Im bringing about 40 people down for our wedding in Playa. We have never been there before and are staying at Barcelo in Xpu Ha.
What are some affordable must see attractions while we are there?
The wedding party wants us to make a list of events in the area.

Any good suggestions regarding deep sea fishing. All the guys are huge fisherman.

Thanks in advance for any advice!

Start by looking at the trip planning section of playa.info (just look up to the tabbed menu).

It's very detailed.

Then you could ask specific questions of your faves to the forum members, or do a forum search for more info.

I hope you all have a great time. It's hard not to!

Trust me, you will not be bored in PDC.

The people in your party who love to fish will be jumping for joy. Really. Tremendous fishing here.

Finding someone who can take you fishing is super easy. Opportunities will present themselves right and left. Google fishing. Playa del Carmen. Akumal.

A lot of this stuff can wait until you get to town. Opportunities to do things are thrown at you right and left. Trust me.

You really don't need to lift a finger trying to set things up from home. It's better to wait until you get here. Just my opinion.....

google xel-ha. Point your friends in that direction if they want something to look at now.

HAVE FUN!

Xel Ha and XCaret are both wonderful eco parks. The ruins of Tulum and Coba are both wonderful. An easy thing I found to do when I haven't been somewhere before, go to a cruise line website and look at their shore excursions available. This gives you a wide idea of all the things to do and then you can start looking for those options with the people who actually operate the tours.

And don't forget the trip planning section on here. The tours offered on this site are small groups and high quality.

I think Melissa has it right. I think your guests will be impressed with the Tulum ruins.

The Ruins can be very hot and humid in the summer, even for a Texan like me. Some might not enjoy the ruins until its cooler. You didn't mention when your going.

Cenotes and caves are fun to visit and you could do a day trip over to Cozumel on teh ferry.

Congrats on your upcoming wedding. Everyone will have a great time in Playa. Regarding fishing, a lot of people seem to swear by Captain Ricks in Puerto Aventuras. My husband is also a fisherman, and we plan to use them next time we are there. Maybe your whole group can book a private tour to one of the Mayan ruin sites? I believe you can do that through this website. Good luck with your planning and have a great time.
