Types of fish near the shore of Playa?
So we went to the beach today and in the water right off 5th ave we saw what could be described as a worm. It was not a worm though. It was skipping on the top of the water and very fast. It was green and about 1inch thick, and 7 inches long. We lost track of it.
What could this be? What would be in the water near the shore? |

I am betting heavily on needlefish too, like this pic...they are very prevalent and usually found near the surface.

They are white/silver....I am not sure why this picture of this needlefish makes it look greenish, maybe it is at night? I just thought it was funny, I found this greenish looking one when I did an image search and the OP said the thing she saw was greenish. ![]() Don caught one once fishing that was huge! Scary teeth on those suckers, you have to handle them very carefully. |
