dog with a chain
Since we are back from our vacation we have a dog (I will make a pic as soon as possible) in our neighborhood with a chain around his neck.
I'm sure he could escape from somewhere. Sadly the same neighbors who had in January 2007 14 puppys and 8 adult dogs (some were catched by the dog catchers and for some of the puppys I could find a home and the last one named "Ossa" found he new home thanks to Andy) watch this thread http://www.playa.info/playa-del-carm...s-adopt-7.html started to collect dogs again. I don't know if this dog with the chain belongs also to their collection. Right now they have 2 or 3 young females and also 2 or 3 males. Not one of them is neutered ........ It makes no sense to take this dogs away because they will start to find other dogs. I tried to talk to this neighbors, also my other nice neighbors did the same but they just don't care. Anyway I will try to take a pic from the one with the chain and will post it here. Susie |

GoodNews
Today I could talk to the Lady with the dog collection.
Exept for one 6 month old female puppy she has no other dogs anymore and this one belongs to her son. She promised me to talk to him about the sterilisation. I hope he will accept that possibility. I also could talk to another neighbour. She has a 1 year old dog who lives chained up to a dog house. The chain is very short because he is so agressiv that he bit already a good friend of her and now her own children are scared of him. By the way that is the same dog which escaped one day and without warning attacked Kojak pretty bad. It was almost impossible for me to hold him at his leash but after a few moments the other dog was laying on his back and that was my turn to pull Kojak with me. I talked to that really nice Lady and I explaned her that her dog is just so aggressiv about beeing at that short chain and if she is not changing his situation he is going to be even more dangerous. I asked her to fix her property in a way that he can't escape anymore and can live free and ran around without the chain. I also talked her in to think about a castration which will also help him with his behavior. Everything looks very positiv in the moment

![]() way to go Suzie...talking with uneducated people is the best way to help these poor animals. Its by spreading conscience of the problem that things CAN get better for both the dog, other dogs ( like yours being attacked) and poeple). Informing the lady that the dog is agressive due to the short chain he lives with, may help her FUTURE dogs not to be held on a chain, living a miserable life of solitude and agression. Also, spreading the word that there are clinics that do free sterilization ( making the male dogs less agressive), is a good start for less problems.
