Era Ora
The first night we ate there my hubby had a calzone and I had Spaghetti Arrabbiata. The calzone crust was paper thin and cooked in a wood oven. Very good. The spaghetti Arrabbiata was perfectly done. Spicy without being overpowering. I thought the calzone had a bit too much of a "tomato" sauce taste but my hubby pronounced it perfect.
The second night the hubby had the ravioli with ricotta and spinach with the red sauce. This was absolutely excellent. A very nice light, fresh tomato sauce that I could eat every day and never tire of it. I had the Fettuccini Carbonara; a perfect blend of sauce and meat; very nice al dente pasta. We dined with friends the second night - he had the same ravioli as my hubby except he had the alfredo sauce. I preferred the tomato on the ravioli. My girlfriend had the lobster tagliolini which was excellent. Pasta portions were generous and served as breakfast the next day. At both meals we were offered a slice of excellent bruchetta as an appetizer and a limoncello for an after dinner drink. Both on the house. The second night I also ordered an Era Ora salad - I really didn't care for the greens it was served on - they had a slightly bitter taste I didn't like. But, I certainly wouldn't let that stop me from eating there again. I just wouldn't order the salad. They do have a website www.eraoraplaya.com - I thought the menu had changed a bit since it was posted. But, that could be chalked up to the fact that I read the website menu without benefit of several before dinner palomas. We rarely repeat dining in the same place in Playa because of all the options but we agreed this was a "must do again" place. Our friends felt the same way. We also enjoyed the rooftop as a dining area. |

When we went, we had the caprese salad which was fantastic, I had lobster and taglioni was was very good and Kevin had fetuccine with seafood. Was very good too. We also had bruschetta, which was delicious. When we arrived we were only the 2nd couple in there but shortly after a large crowd came in and the service sadly went downhill. We waited a long time for them to ask us if we wanted dessert, we did order tiramisu, which was OK, but not great. And I asked for the bill, but we waited forever for it, I had to ask for it again (I think the fellow didn't hear me the first time). Also sadly we were not offered limoncello. We did get some at La Pummarola however, and it was great
![]() Food was good, but I don't think they are prepared to be really busy. It was on a Monday night, so it was an odd evening to be really busy. |

We went to try Era Ora about a week ago.......we stood at the entrance to get in for about 5-6 minutes, as 2 staff glanced at us numerous times and did not come to greet us in....the place was almost empty!!
We walked away in disgust. Friends of ours who live in Playa had tried it a few weeks prior to this..they got seated..no service, and so they walked out.
