I'm thinkin' the two years you mentioned is about the correct time frame to anticipate for delivery of your letter. Though, I will say I've purchased Hard Rock Cafe pins from a chap in Mexico City on several occasions, and the delivery has been dependable and prompt. He does, however, send them as what appears to be the equivalent of "registered mail", because the packages require a signature on delivery. Not cheap either, but it works.

We have ordered items on eBay from Mexico City, and had them delivered to New York. They do come registered, and they have arrived within 2 weeks.
Last year I Fedexed a framed painting to Playa from NY, it cost $400US to ship, but the import tax was only $10. |

Yes, the Isaac Uribe "Homage to Oaxaca" which we bought in Oaxaca years ago, had it in NY, then sent it here. The paint was too thick to roll the canvas, so it had to come down in the frame with support. $400 seems outrageous I guess, but we wanted it and it would not fit in a suitcase!
