Puerto Aventuras
What's it like to live there?
Is it more expensive or cheaper than Playa for rent? Are you stuck for stuff to do? Are you dependent on going to Plaza Maya for shopping and things, or is there enough in PA? We both work down that way and live in Playa, so just nosing around at the moment. Also, where's the best place for rental listings? The only things I find on the net is for vacation rentals. Thanks! There is a bulletin board down across from the Omni which lists some long term rentals. There is another bulletin board in the marina office.
My wife and I enjoy PA immensely. They are building a new Chedraui here so that will make things a lot more convenient. If you are looking for entertainment, this probably wouldn't be my first choice. That is unless you are into water sports. We have the best marina in the whole Riviera Maya. On the other hand, security is fantastic. We have manned gates and an able security force. It's all in what you like. |

We live here as well and love it. Central to PDC, Akumal and Tulum. Secure, quiet, you can ride bikes and walk without a lot of traffic. It is a a classy spot, well landscaped and maintained.
Restaurants, selection could be better, we like dining in other areas, kinda touristy and expensive with not the best results. 5 minutes to Paamul for a nice little beach restaurant. Yes, we need to travel to Playa for almost everything, banking, accountant, lawyer, many other supplies, but the poblado across the street has hardware, fresh fish and shrimp, a great meat market with fresh meats and the best bulk carinitas in the world, farmacia and more. I can help you with LT rentals, PM me if you have interest in seeing what is available. |

Real Estate in Puerto Adventuras
How does the PA real estate (with marina or other water views) compare to PDC? I have had a couple realtors call, but can't get a feel for comparison. Seems to me Tulum may be the most promising for future home values.

Seafood is on the left side main road after you enter 'bout 300 yards in.
Meat market, take a right just before the police station, then second left, go past the tree in the middle of the road an it is on the right hand side at the corner. The Carnitas by the kilo are awesome, but they run out by 1PM |

I am not sure the number of people living in a town dictates its future real estate appreciation. In fact I'm 100% certain there is no correlation. Tizimin has about 40,000 people. 42K actually. I bet their real estate appreciation does not keep up with Playa.
An International airport will always be in the future. There is a no reason to build an international airport in Tulum, unless of course you were going after the business from Chichen Itza International airport.
