If Andrew is in town that weekend we would love to come. We just won't know till that week. He has a crazy work schedule that makes things impossible to plan!! Hopefully we can make it work and squeeze in last minute...

Hope you can make it. With 14 so far, we'll be at two tables anyway, so we can likely get you a couple of chairs, even on short notice. We can always put a bit more water in the soup.

We're new to the forum but have been going to Playa since 1998. Leaving tomorrow for another two weeks of sun and sand in Playa. Never knew there was a Winnipeg peep group and we'd like to attend your function on October 23rd.

A-h-h-h-h.....life is GOOD!! Okay-doke then, Peeps. Here it is October 1st. Please remember we're hoping for an indication by the 4th, of how many happy diners we can anticipate on the 23rd. At last count, we're up to a total of 16, which would make this our largest get together so far. With that number, we're already looking at a couple of tables anyway, and there would still be room for some more folks to join us before tables are filled. We've got a couple of tentatives to hear from, but it looks like it will be a good sized group. At this rate, we may have to consider name tags. Please let Eva or myself know if you'd care to come along. |

Well, I have a nightmare the night before that when I went to the restaurant to ask to reserve two tables for our gathering, I was told that they only have one table left
I broke out in cold sweat and woke myself up. So today, I should say yesterday (Friday) when I went for lunch I made a reservation for two tables .

That's dandy news, Jackie. It will be good to see Di again.
That gets us up to 17 diners, Peeps. That may increase by another couple as some folks won't know their availability until pretty much the last minute. In any case, it will definitely be the largest get together the Manitoba Mexican Mafia has ever arranged. Eva has a good handle on a preliminary menu, with a variety of delights on it to please everybody. She's suggesting hot and sour soup with no shrimp, egg rolls, BBQ pork, lemon chicken, fish, satay beef, a shrimp dish (to be avoided by some folks) and vegetables. The Peking duck goes without saying, of course, and it's prepared in two different ways. If you have a particular favourite dish you'd like to add, that's always possible. As you can see, nobody is likely to go hungry. Billing-wise, what we've done on the food in the past, is to just split up the total equally, amongst all in attendance. As for drinks, we'll run separate individual checks for our liquid refreshments. It's worked out well on previous occasions. So, we'll look forward to seeing everyone on the 23rd. Bring your appetite. Last edited by Bumper; 10-13-2010 at 09:11 AM.. |

We'll always find room for a couple more Peeps. You'll be most welcome. I'll add you to the list. Now we're up to 19. You got names? Any more hungry folks out there?
