So what IS the deal with the original location...closed for ever? OR temporarily closed for renos as was suggested somewhere around here? If the latter - did Donato say WHEN it might reopen?

No renovations taking place. I wouldn't count on it re-opening...until it does.

He told me that he has a lot going on. The old OPA will now be (soon) Tex-Mex restaurant called ORALE (fronting calle 24)and also fronting AV. 5 will be a self-serve yogurt stand (I don't get that either). |

Bisquick is a biscuit dough. Thick and..umm..."doughy" Piola is not that. To each his own - I'll take Piola (pizza) over Pummarola (pizza) any day. Pastas I can't speak of because I've never had Piola's pasta dishes. |

Just got back from Pummarola on 24th. Sign that used to say Pummarola 'Express' is now just Pummarola. Asked waiter (the original guy who has been serving there for years) when old location will reopen....he said he didn't think it would!
Whole of Playa is heaving at the moment - Pummarola filled up within minutes of us being there. Service everywhere does not seem at its best - they are all rushed off their feet. No more complimentary meatballs, pizza or after dinner drinks at this location that we have always got in the past at original location. Menu seems smaller too....the 'specials' board is not out (maybe cuz its this time of year). Pizza was still upto snuff tho

This list is an EXCELLENT resource! Thank you, Dpreefer, for maintaining it. It makes it so easy to not have to rely on the "comfort zone" of staying in an all-inclusive for meals...
I see that the current list is dated 10-21-2010. Should I just print this one, or is there another revision in the works soon? We're heading down in mid-February, and I'll wait if there may be a newer one on the way. Just curious! ![]() Saludos, -GZ- |
