New updated Restaurant list

The new Restaurant list is attached hereto, with several changes. Unfortunately, most of the changes are the removal of many of the restaurants that have closed over the past months. It has been a hard time for many excellent restaurants. As many have been replaced by new incarnations and I cannot try them all, I hope that visitors to this site will report on their experiences with new places so they can be considered for future inclusion to my list. Buen provecho!

Thank you for the update. I print your guide and keep it handy when in Playa. Got back yesterday, so the update will definitely come in handy. I find your recommendations "spot on".

Couple of observations from your updated list - if I may

Chicago Don's and The Glass Bar are no more
Hot Baking Company only has 1 location - the one on 10th has been gone for a long time.

imho Kefa REALLY should be on the list!

Great resource - txs.

Is Chicago Don Jose gone?

I thought new owners took over this long time staple and were keeping the name and basic menu. Let me know if this is not so, or if there is a new place at that location.

The new owners changed the name to Chez Mattisa then back to Chicago Don Jose.
Changing the name back didn't save the restaurant.

Kefa's hours have been way to inconsistent lately. It's pot luck as to whether or not it will be open.

Thanks! I always take a copy of this list with me.

A little suggestion: for those of us who repeatedly use it, it might be nice to have the new additions highlighted in some way.

I think Pizza Pazza is WAY overrated. I suppose if you're drunk enough a slice will be fine, but it's just not great. The only pizza slice place I think is worthy of mention is Pizza Renzo.

My fav is Pizza Renzo. It is close to where I live and they sell by the slice. Alot of places around where I live (Little Italy) only sell whole pies. If I am headed home from a bar(s) I don't want to want wait for a whole pie to bake. Renzo usually has a variety of pizza slices ready to go - just up my alley.....quick with no fuss and no muss. Still hot when I get it home.

The last few times I stopped by to get a slice, I had bad luck and there wasn't much left. I HATE that! But I still love their pizza, when I can get it.
