Specials are available to locals, tourists, friends and family.....however, not applicable for group events/banquets!

I think a webcam would be a great idea. And since I will be staying at the El Faro condos for ten days soon, I'd be happy to eat there once a day to help pay for it!!!

Has anyone tried these specials? Are they worth it? I am especially

interested in the wednesday special? And are these specials for dinner?

I believe someone was there for the friday special and was told that it was

good for lunch only. Thank you!

I know and I am asking if anyone knows for sure if wednesday special is for lunch only-dinner only -or good for both. Not interested in lunch-would like to take my siste and sister in laws for dinner-we are all on a limited budget and that price was about what we would spend for dinner.

If this isnt good for dinner-we may have to head to Byblos for their special.

I went to wickys tonight and asked. The specials are for both lunch and dinner. I did assume the wine was included in that price but that would be a very good deal. Pasta-120 pesos wine 2 for 1.

Is this the special where earlier people said the burgers were smaller than the non-special burgers?

I do not remember where that was.

I understand why Maya is asking if anyone has actually had the specials at the times noted. We were in Playa for the winter and often went there for lunch. I saw the specials on their on-line website.

They were lunch specials only ,ending at 5:00 p.m. daily. Unfortunately, the waiters had NEVER heard of this special. We saw the manager and spoke to him about the specials and he was very apologetic that the server was unaware of this. Had a delicious meal and good service.

Returned again with a guest of ours for the special.....the waiter had not heard of the special. Returned about a week later at 4:15 and was so pleased that our waiter did indeed know about the special. However, he said we were too late as it ended at 4:00 p.m.

Really trying to give them business, so I took a another friend there. When the waiter came we asked about the lunch special, but he had no knowledge of it. Prepared this time as I certainly do not enjoy having to go through this just to save a few bucks. I brought the print out of the on-line special and he said o;kay.

It was a great special with a sandwich entre, soft drink and delicious key lime pie!!

We enjoy going out for dinner in Playa , but sometimes I prefer just staying home because of the consistency of service, food, pricing, scrutinizing of the bill, or specials not available and the big upsell to the most expensive entres.

Next year will be our 11th year coming to Playa and I do have some spanish. Looking forward to returning, but I am hoping that the restaurants have improved in making the dining out experience more pleasant for their customers.

Hopefully no locals get hungry after December 15! Nice to have special local rates 'cause we're the folks who help keep a place in business when there are no tourists, but it's nice to be appreciated year 'round.
