I was checking out small hotels and thought the El Faro looked quite nice. It's right on the beach and has a free-form pool, restaurant, and beach bar. I'm not sure, but I think the rooms run about $150 per night. Worth checking out!

Like Meg says the oceanfront condos on the third floor are nice. On the 1st floor there is really no deck, only a small patio and on the 2nd floor oceanfront the problem there seemed that if it rained the palpa roof on the deck was so small that you couldn't use the deck and your stuff got wet that was out there.
