Muyil Ruins

A tip for visiting the Muyil ruins: behind the largest structure, El Castillo, go back to where the jungle starts, walk in a way, and you'll see a boardwalk. It goes through the jungle and comes out at a lagoon in the Siaan Kan. About half-way through, there's an observation tower, around 60 feet high. If you can get past the slight swaying and the steps that are like climbing a ladder, the view from the top is fantastic! You look out over the jungle and the lagoon. To read more about these ruins, look at Mundo Maya under the "read more" section at the top. To get there, I really think you need a car or taxi. I didn't see any collectivos or many vehicles at all on 307 south of Tulum. It's off the beaten path! 8)
