Muyil Ruins

A tip for visiting the Muyil ruins: behind the largest structure, El Castillo, go back to where the jungle starts, walk in a way, and you'll see a boardwalk. It goes through the jungle and comes out at a lagoon in the Siaan Kan. About half-way through, there's an observation tower, around 60 feet high. If you can get past the slight swaying and the steps that are like climbing a ladder, the view from the top is fantastic! You look out over the jungle and the lagoon. I didn't see any collectivos or many vehicles at all on 307 south of Tulum. It's off the beaten path! 8)
