Breakfast or Empanadas?
I've seen a couple recommendations for breakfast in Playa, but I'm not exactly an earlier riser. What I'd really prefer is to grab a couple of empanadas (seriously can't get enough of these things) and then head to the beach. Is there a cafe or bakery that sells these empanadas in the late morning/early afternoon? Even better if I can get some good ones at a beach club. Let me know if you have any recommendations!

I like the empanada cart that parks each day (except Sunday, methinks) on Calle 8 between avenidas 10 and 15. Grab a bagful, pack up some salsa, chopped cabbage slaw, and napkins, and head on down to the beach. ![]() PS. they are only there until about noon-ish before they run out. |

The last time I was at the empanada cart on Calle 8 (which is about 2.5 blocks away from you at Magic Blue
), the choices of freshly-fried empanadas were chicken, carne (ground meat/spices), potato/chorizo (omg, yum), and cheese. Buen provecho!

Agreed, this place is great. And get this, last year I stopped to buy some empanadas on my way home from The Gym. When I went to pay I was a few pesos short! They told me to just come back later/tomorrow and pay! Another great reason to stay on 4th, love the entire street! And yes I returned and paid with fairly large tip. Good guys.
