Sure, I have had to give this to so many people i have it saved.

SANGRITA

10oz, fresh squeezed orange juice (about 3 oranges)
8oz, tomato juice (I use Major Peters Original Bloody mix from Hy-Vee)
4oz, fresh squeezed lime juice (about 2 large limes)
3/4 oz Worcestershire sauce
½ oz, Maggi Seasoning sauce (Hy-Vee has it, small bottles by the soy sauces)
1 ½ oz, Grenadine
Dash of you favorite hot sauce or as much as you like to give it a little heat.

This will keep a long time in the frig, I make a triple batch at a time and keep it in an empty booze bottle.

Remember, there is NO substitute for fresh juice.

Enjoy, JIM

To taste right, it need to be sweet with a spicy bite. It seems to taste better after it has sat if the frig at bit. Right Jimi. If you look back at the history of Sangrita you will find that is had no tomato in it but mostly
palmagranite juice thus the use of the grinadine.

Does it Seems All We Do Is EAT!!

YES, and here is the proof.

Well we made to the beach about 20 minutes late for sunrise, maybe next trip. Hard to believe that I have been getting up at 4:15am and going to work for weeks before this trip and I can’t even make it to the beach by 7am.

Not much going on at 7:30 in the morning, If I was staying at one of the big AI resorts I would have to be down by the pool by now staking our chairs for the day.

Very peaceful this am.

Breakfast at Tropical

My yogurt

AND my waffles and bacon

Donnas Chilaquilas with red sauce and chicken. They have good food at fare prices for 5th Ave.

Later, as we head for the beach someone wants to stop by Mr Kiwis and get a banana / chocolate Smoothie. They have some of the best.

Maybe someone else should get one of their Tortas to put in their beach bag. Nah, I’m sure if I happen to get hungry while at the beach I can find something to eat somewhere.

Today we try this place, free and comfortable loungers and no loud music.

Nice place, good service, don’t know about the restrooms. Can’t remember what they have to eat here, all we had was a Sol and a Limonade and that was $65pesos with the tip I think. Seems like I took a nice long nap here. Huh, was I snoring? No, guess I got up to early.

Later we head down to our old favorite El Pirata

Nice to see they still have the parrots, they even still have the one that likes to bit Donna (and did). Sad thing is the place seems be fading away, maybe soon to be bought out and torn down to make way for some fancy new condo. They did not even have a sign out on the beach and a few nights before about 7pm when we stopped they had already closed. This has always been a favorite lunch on the beach place but we never made for lunch this trip.

Next stop, Indigo Beach Club at the El Taj condos

Nice play for sure.

With delicious Shrimp Wontons

Next stop, Fusion for Margaritas and Palomas.

By now it is after 4 and the beach crown is thinning out fast.

Seems like and good time a place to share some shrimp tacos, and as in the past these are great.

This evening finds us at Wickys for a few drinks at the bar and a visit with Jose.

Walking down 1st Ave toward our dinner destination I notice the tamale sign.

And have to take a picture so I can remember where it was I saw them for sale. Never did get to try any there this trip, but, maybe next time.

We are dining tonight at a place that has been recommended by many Peeps on the forum.

How did they know to give me the English menu?

We are not the only Peeps eating here tonight. Harris & Paul are seated right next to us.

They start us off with some complementary Brochette. Free is good.

Mixed Salad.

Donna had the Seafood Fettuccine.

I enjoyed the Fettuccine with Mushrooms & Sausage.

Their Tiramisu was good but did not hold a candle to what we had at Mestizos.

Total with one coke and one glass of wine. All in all, another great meal in Playa.

I'm glad you and Donna ate there as well. We always say we won't repeat dining experiences but really enjoyed this place. Didn't get off 5th as much as I would have liked....but, still had wonderful meals. Back to Isla Mujeres or, perhaps Tulum for us next year,. Playa is about an every 4th year destination for us...

I knew some one would ask me that. I think it is just north of Zenzi. It is in that area somewhere. Between 10th and 12th I think. The bar itself has been there for years but I think it has changed names many times.
Just look for the yellow beach beds. I will see if I can find a old photo of the bar itself, I don't remember them have a beach club there for the last few years.

It is really hard NOT to go back to a place where you have enjoyed a great meal, I have a list in my head of places that I want to try again, some as far back as 2006 that are still going strong.

We went to Era Ora twice ourselves this year, after Harris and Paul brought us there the first time.... excellent, and we had those same two dishes one night.
Yum!

Trip Report

I don't take enough pictures to make a TR interesting Jim; hubby and I both tend to forget the camera. Or, there are other people with us who make us promise they won't end up in a trip report!

Our last Night in Playa

This is the place I want to try on our last night in Playa. It used to be on 1st Ave and moved to 5th a while back. Since we have been home I see it has been as high as #1 on TripAdvisor. But there are an awful lot of 4 star reviews buy 1st time reviewers on TripAdvisor and that makes we wonder about its high rating .
