recommend well-located resort?

We're a couple and an 8-year old boy heading to PDC end of March for a week. Can anyone recommend an AI resort with a good beach (calm waters), that's kid-friendly and that is close enough to walk to town or very quick to cab to? Is anything in town suitable? Just don't want to be stuck in a hotel the whole time. Thanks!

Riu Yucatan has a great beach, lots of palm trees if you don't want to much sun, great beach volleyball and swimming pool. Heard that their kids club was good too. A cab ride to Playa is only 4 dollars and it didn't take long at all
