Thanks for the info, how you've described it is a big help. Can you tell me anything about getting a room with a Caribbean view, or if there are many, and which side they're on? Any info. would be helpful. Graci

Trip Report
Azulita,
Thanks you for taking the time to write your trip report. I loved reading it. I have a few questions about the shopping on 5th Ave. Did you buy any silver jewerly and where? I'm also looking for nice leather belts, purses, etc. and the beautiful mexican dishes. |

Thank you for the thorough review of ASP! My fiance and I are going there in July - we are looking forward to it! I have recently read a couple of so-so reviews about Aventura Spa Palace, so I am glad to hear that you enjoyed it so much!

Yes, thanks for posting your trip report. I just came across this site today on a referal from a friend. I told him we were thinking of ASP for our next vacation and he told me to check out this site. I just love forums and all of the detailed information you can get from them. Thanks again for your posts.

married at ASP
I was just wishing we were back at ASP and wanted to read some other reviews to bring back memories!
We were married at ASP in December 2003. We had a group of 17 total people vacationing with us. Each person loved the resort and said they would return in an instant. Everything about the place was beautiful. Our wedding at the resort was perfect. We enjoyed the different restaurants and didn't mind the lack of a "real" beach. The lagoons were very pretty, the spa side was undergoing some renovations and was not in really good shape but we were not bothered by that. We liked to see that they were continuously making improvements and it only made us more excited to return to see how beautiful it is when finished. Same with the repairs to buildings. I have read some awful reviews of the grounds basically falling apart. I can only think that these people are extremely picky and have no patience. For instance they were scraping railings in our building and repainting, along with working on some hallway ceilings. The only inconvenience this caused me was to walk around the workers and say hello to them. They were always friendly and we liked that the hotel cared enough about the appearance to be maintaining it so well. So put aside all worries, this place is great. We stayed on the Spa side. At first I was disappointed, I'd done my research and wanted the Aventura side. The desk clerk said to try it out and come back if I was not happy. Sure enough, I loved the Spa side. It was very nice and quiet. I loved the walk to the Aventura side when we wanted to liven things up. It was a wonderful way to get to know the grounds and see more of the resort. The spa side buildings also seemed a little nicer to me although I'm sure the Aventura is also great. The Aventura side was louder with people and music at the pool. This was tons of fun but it was nice to have a quiet room when we wanted to take a nap! We visited the sister resort, Xpu-Ha. This place was gorgeous. The beach is beautiful and the bungalow huts are so pretty. We liked it so much we visited twice, it was a short $5 cab ride away. We ate breakfast at the restaurant on the beach and it was one of our best meals! I strongly suggest visiting this place. We laid out on the beach, snorkeled there for free and played hours of beach volleyball. Very fun. Although I really liked Xpu-Ha, I preferred ASP to stay overnight at. Xpu-Ha is very spread out and more wilderness type. I liked the luxury of the ASP buildings to stay overnight. If anyone has questions, please ask. I used these websites and talked with a couple people before our trip and want to return the favor to others. |

your trip to adventura spa
Im jelous of you upcoming trip. I have stayed at the ASP before and will be returing again in December. I love this resort, the spa is wonderful. If you are really into snorkeling I highly recomend go to the local sister resort XPU-HA, The beach is beautiful and not as crowded an the one in Cancun. There is also a cove to swim in, they make you wear life presevers (but we didint blow ours up) In that cove we saw a mantee, it was amazing. Near there is a freshwater area, the water was so cool and refresing. I also suggest Tulum, its close and the beach is beautiful. If you take a tour it is imformative but you dont get to stay at the beach. They actually told us we didint have time to get in, so we skipped the tour and went swimming.
Have fun Paula QUOTE=Scot]Sounds like you had a great time. My wife and I are going to be at the ASP the second week of June. Iw ould be interested inhearing all you have to say regarding your trip. I would like to plan out the trip through the airport (so I miss whatever I need to miss) and how check in goes and how to streamline that. Additionally, did you go on any of the Palace tours and if you did how did you sign up. I can't wait, would appreciate any guidance you can provide (also, just like hearing about great trips. Keeps me looking forward to June). Thanks,[/quote] |
