Ricardo has about 80 dogs right now. Coco´s travelled to Cancun a few weeks back to spay and neuter them there as bringing them all to Playa would have been difficult.

For anyone in Playa who wants to help and can´t get to Cancun Coco´s is collecting dog food and whatever supplies or donations you want to give to help Ricardo and his family care for all the dogs.

We will travel to Cancun once a month to spay the animals until his clinic is set up and will drop all donations off each month.

This is an amazing cause! Please help! Ricardo also works with CANDI along with Coco´s and we can ship animals for free unescorted to Canada with air transat so if you see a puppy or a dog you want please let Ricardo know!
Cross border adoptions are even easier than before!
Laura - that's wonderful! I'm so glad that people 'get' the fact that everyone CAN work together for the same cause - the animals!! I've made a donation to Ricardo, and it won't be my last. I believe in helping those who need it and encouraging the good work they do. Good for them, good for you!

That is very nice, Jan. I think that it is great that he always gives positive messages about Coco's and CANDi and other animal organizations. As he has said to us both before, "It makes you feel like you are not alone."
I have seen a photo of Laura going to the perrera with Ricardo, but I can't seem to find it!

Please remember that if anyone wants to donate any food or medical supplies or even monetary donations, Coco's will collect it and give it to Ricardo. They see each other every month as Coco's helps him with spay/neutering. Ricardo will soon have his own clinic to help the people in Cancun and Riviera Maya.

People helping people help the animals makes me smile.

Ricardo and his family really are amazing! Thank you so much for donating and helping him. Ricardo has a giant heart and I am amazed at everything they are doing.

On our second visit to the pound we were only able to take 9 dogs however just as we were about to drive off a dog escaped from the pound and Ricardo said it must be a sign jumped out and squished dog no 10 in to the car!

He spends all his own money on the dogs too!

The contract with air transat is all thanks to Darci from CANDI who is amazing too! Not only can we ship animals for free but unescorted!!

If there is anyone in Canada that wants to adopt a cat or a dog from Coco's or Ricardo we can get them to you for FREE!!!

Ricardo has over 80 dogs right now and Coco's has 30 cats and kittens,5 adult dogs and 10 puppies! ADOPT TODAY :-)

Sorry for not mentioning the three other local groups that also have many dogs up for adoption The Peanut Pet Shelter, Malix Pek and Amigos de los perros. I was not meaning to leave these three groups out.

I was just mentioning the groups that can send animals for free unescorted through our humane partership with CANDI to Canada via air transat.

For the other groups to be able to do this they need to become humane partners.

This was my reason for just mentioning Ricardo and Coco's.

Of course anyone in Canada who wants to adopt a dog from Peanuts, Malix Pek or Amigos de los perros I am sure a mule could be found and the price is not that high usually 100usd for the flight.

Sorry again if I offended anyone.

We will be collecting dog food and donations all week if you can't get to Coco's we will pick it up!

That's cool.

Laura, I didn't take offense to your previous post...I started this thread and you were only responding to it. The other organizations could get involved with CANDi & Air Transat as well to adopt out dogs, which would be awesome.

This weekend I am going to upload some photos on here on a few of the before/after photos of these dogs. They don't even look the same.

Just an FYI...Ricardo rehabilitates and trains each dog. Probably the first time any one of them received a lot of attention and love.

Not only that Trish...probably the first time any animal shelter in the Roo spent that much time with their animals, giving them attention, training, and love! Nobody else does that!

Ricardo brought 5 dogs to be spayed and neutered today, while he was at Coco's he decided to go and visit the pound and check on the animals there. He came back with four more dogs one was going to be put down today!

Ricardo then went out to buy a drink from the oxxo really close to the Coco's clinic and came back with another dog that has the worse TVT(cancer) I have ever seen!

He came to Playa with 5 dogs and went home with 10!

Amazing!

Ricardo and volunteer Lisa at Coco's helping the dogs recover from their surgery

These two rescued from the pound today

recovery

also saved from the pound today

This is the dog who has TVT

This is a photo of her tumour. She is safe now and after a few weeks of chemo she will be much much better and soon cured!
