Ricardo's HELP MEXICAN DOGS Organization
The Pimentel Family in Cancun rescue dogs every week that are hurt, abandoned, sick, abused, beaten or wandering streets. They also pick up dogs from the local dog pounds.
The Pimentel Family are independent animal rescuers and their mission is to give back dogs their health, self esteem and a forever loving and caring family! They try to help the animals find homes in the United States and Canada. The dogs will be sent to each home spayed/neutered and healthy. Ricardo will even arrange the transportation of the animal. Please visit his website at helpmexicandogs (dot) com . Save a Mexican Dog! Last edited by Trish&Chad; 02-05-2011 at 10:26 PM.. |

Been looking around his site and shared it on my FB page. He's doing some great things, and his website is really great! So good to see each dog with an individual story and a few photos. Also nice that he lists the condition they were found in, how their temperment is and updated photos of them! They look like they're in wonderful shape!

Ricardo just received land as a donation and he is needing all the help he can to get a low cost spay/neuter clinic set up. This will really help with the pet population in Mexico.
Sweet people. The adoption pics are so nice to see. |

No I don't think they post on Playainfo...its a big chain of people that do a LOT of work to make conditions at the perrera better...they talk with people from the municipio, journalists etc etc...they try even if its not easy here...

Hello Mo!!!! Yes there is NOTHING like people joining forces! Yes Ricardo works with coco and amigos...he rescues so many dogs from the perrera.
Basically what they try to do is to make sure that the laws for animal protection passed in Mexico in april 2009 are applied...which aren't at the pound, nowhere near... Honestly, I don't know how they can go to the pound and deal with what they see. I couldn't ![]() [quote=maureena5;1706410]Hey Dear Anna! FYI, Ricardo has been working with Amigos de los perros & Coco's Cat Rescue. He took 20 dogs from the Perrara this month with help from Amigos de los perros. They have the connections at the Perrara! Coco's did medical treatment before they were transported to Cancun. There is NOTHING like the POWER of organizations working together. Sharing information & resources & Volunteers coming together for a common cause. There is so much accomplished by working together!!! |

Trish, thanks for starting this thread! Ricardo and his family are amazing! When we went to rescue the 20 dogs from the pound he even brought daugher with us to help. She is the sweetest girl picks the dogs up loads them into the car and didnīt even mind that we had bunches of sick dogs making a big mess all over us and the car!
Ricardo has about 80 dogs right now. Cocoīs travelled to Cancun a few weeks back to spay and neuter them there as bringing them all to Playa would have been difficult. For anyone in Playa who wants to help and canīt get to Cancun Cocoīs is collecting dog food and whatever supplies or donations you want to give to help Ricardo and his family care for all the dogs. We will travel to Cancun once a month to spay the animals until his clinic is set up and will drop all donations off each month. This is an amazing cause! Please help! Ricardo also works with CANDI along with Cocoīs and we can ship animals for free unescorted to Canada with air transat so if you see a puppy or a dog you want please let Ricardo know! Cross border adoptions are even easier than before! |
