Quiet Lodging ON the beach?

We are planning our first trip to PDC this spring. I have spent hours researching where to stay (AI v. hotel v. condo). I am looking for a family friendly (we have one 15-yo) place to stay on the beach within walking distance to restaurants. At this point, I think a condo would be my first choice, a hotel my second. My budget is around $150/night for lodging. The recommendations I have been finding in my searches are either adults only or noisy or dont seem to be near the beach.

Hotel on the Beach

The Fusion is on the beach at CAlle 6 and very nice - if you get a garden room it is quiet and very family friendly - the cost runs about $90 per night, do not even think about the ocean view rooms - they are not quiet as the restaurant and bar have ongoing music - nice to listen to not so nice to try and sleep with - it has beach chairs for guests, a great restaurant and bar as well as being within walking distance to all of the Playa restaurants - We have stayed there everytime we have been Playa and really cannot find another place that is as centrally located or as nice.

There are many condos on Bric Rentals under $150 such as Aqua Terra. Check it out.

Playa Maya

We have always enjoyed the hotel Playa Maya. It's a wonderful smaller quiet hotel right on the beach. The staff are very helpful and the prices are very reasonable and easy access to 5th ave. Check out their website.

Playa Maya Too

I'll second Playa Maya, very family friendly place. We've been going there for 5 years and love it. In fact we'll be there in 21 days... woohoo.

PS it is a hotel not condo

It'll be hard to find a condo RIGHT on the beach for that price. Xaman Ha might work out, but in the north end I'd suggest Palmar del Sol or Riviera Maya Suites where you can use the beach club at Las Palapas HOtel for free. We had a penthouse at Palmar with an ocean view and were about a 5 min. walk to the beach. There are some really nice two bedroom condos and the owners are very willing to negotiate. Try vrbo.
