iberostar paraiso beach vs. iberostar lindo

Does anyone know why the Lindo is so much more expensive than the paraiso beach? My travel agent says if we stay at the paraiso beach we can use all the facilities at either resort, but I've read in various forums that if you stay at the paraiso beach, you're not allowed to do certain things at the lindo. I need info asap. HELP?!

The Lindo is more expensive simply because it is a more upscale hotel.
It's brand new, opened Nov, 03, has 5 pools, 1 of which is a lazy rivier and 1 is a wave pool. Dinners are ala carte, not buffet. If you want a buffet, you have to go to the del Mar. It's also a more compact resort so not as much walking. Absolutely stunning resort.
And call your travel agent... tell her that folks from the del Mar are NOT allowed to use the facilities the Lindo but folks from the Lindo ARE allowed to go to the del Mar!

IB*Paraiso Lindo

I have been to the IB* Paraiso Beach and the Del Mar. This year we recently returned to IB* Lindo. There are several reasons for the upcharge. 1) Specialty restaurants all 7 nights not just 3 as on the Beach and Del Mar sides. 2) A concierge in each building making your reservations. No waiting in line at the lobby for dinner or tours. 3) A fantastic lazy river to float your tube on to relax in the sun. 3) Larger and more luxurious rooms to enjoy. 4) We watched the super bowl with 500 of our fellow vacationers on a 20 foot wide projection screen. Open bar with snacks. 5) A new and enjoyable wave pool. 6) A staff of waitresses bringing you drinks as fast as you can drink them.

The difference is only $200 per person for us. The improvements are worth every penny. A fourth resort is nearing completion that will be only JR suites. A 5'th is planned that will include 2 golf courses and a shopping mall. Iberostar really knows how to make westerners feel at home. I will be back for years to come. Ron & Rita (The Mainers)
