Don't worry about 'more perfect weather' if you're only talking a matter of a couple of weeks. You've picked an excellent time to go for many reasons. Check out the Peep Stuff forum and you'll see that there'll be a LOT of peeps there in Feb and March (Peep Fest and Peep Stock...I know, we're goofy) and lots of parties and meet ups planned if you'd like to join in. Check out the Trip Planning tab at the top of the page and you'll find reviews of hotels all over Playa. Playa's not a huge place, you could stay on the north end of town and be able to walk all the way south to the ferry in about 20 minute....or two hours if you stop and drink your way there.
Check out Luna Blue, Posada Freud, Fusion, Playa Maya, La Tortuga, Riviera del Sol...that should keep ya busy for a while.
