KC to PDC in March

Hi there,

My husband and I are headed down to PDC in March (3/25 to 3/31). This is our first time in Mexico (other than quick trips to TJ when I lived in San Diego).

We currently live in Kansas City having moved here from New Hampshire three years ago.

I've been lurking the board for a while now and have gotten so much great info from you very kind sharing folks.

I've convinced him to stay at Mahekal though I think he's already going through anticipatory withdrawal from the internetz and tv but I think he'll survive.

Our last beach vacation was at the Ritz in Puerto Rico for 3 days, during which time we just laid on the beach. This time around we're planning on snorkeling, diving, ruin-touring, etc.

Welcome to the board! We will be there the same time as you guys. This is our 8th trip to playa and our 12th trip to the area. Your husband sounds like mine - our first trip to Mexico was to Isla Mujeres and he couldn't believe he was going to have to go a week without TV - now he doesn't even miss it. There are all kinds of places to access the internet so your husband won't feel completely cut-off

You'll have a great time. We're also from KC, incidentally (we live in Raymore). Have been to PDC about ten times.

I would highly suggest lining up a trip to snorkel and/or dive the cenotes. Incredible experience, and you don't have to be cavern or cave certified to do it. Open water certification is fine.

I'd also recommend going to both Tulum and Xel-Ha. Enjoyed both quite a bit. And if you want a great snorkeling spot, rent a car and get down the coast to Akumal. Terrific natural cove for snorkeling, and afterwards there are some of the best beaches around for hanging out.

Have a great time.
