SO awesome, Jimmy. I was at Casa de las Olas in Tulum yesterday and sat scrolling through the photos while having a meal with Antonio, the house's caretaker, who is from Chiapas. He loved your photos and was excited to show me on your map where he is from.

Probably wouldn't have made it beyond 30 years if I hadn't shown up for that date on March 1st.

I'll give those Negritos a try... to see if you have good taste.

Rarely eat any of those treats except when I'm driving across Mexico.
Usually just reach for some of these...

Chiapas is definitely one of my favorite Mexican states. It would be hard to find one that's more scenic and the people there seem to have more integrity than anywhere else in the country. I often hear that it's one of the poorest states in Mexico but you sure can't tell it when visiting their captal city, Tuxtla Gutierrez. Although I've been to San Cristobal on several occasions, I still have yet to visit Chamula or the southeastern part of the state near Guatemala. Tell your friend he should be very proud to be from Chiapas!

I have NEVER in my life read such an interesting story ( w/pics ) about ones journey through Mexico ! Man mi amigo Jimmy ! reading was truly an inspiration and now i'm ready even more to do some trips with you in a few years ! We could REALLY do some exploration on the way to Playa ( and hopefully live to tell about it )

Such interesting reading that I never once got up to get another cerveza until i finished !!!

THAT JUST DON'T HAPPEN WITH ME AMIGO !!!
