We got back from our 1 month + trip to Sacbe this past Thursday. Sure enjoyed visiting with everyone there, quite a few new homes going in now. We got alot done, alot remains to be done, I start our report here and post more from time to time as I have time.
Our flight was uneventful, picked up a VW (aka Voche) from Easyway and headed down the road. Got to Sacbe and first impression was wow, everything is soooo green. Last time we'd been there was after Wilma and everything was leafless. Hiked our bags and stuff out to the palapa, said hi to neighbor Walter and Bill Barton and headed into town for supplies. Walter is in the photo below. He's been teaching us a little Mayan and also teaching me the trees in the area.

We spent the first few days just getting the essentials, food, air mattress, propane tank, 3 burner gas cooking strip, cooler, gas lantern. Sounds like getting the essentials would be easy but getting the propane and the gas lantern that hooks to the big tank were a real ordeal. To get tanks filled you go tho the end of Juarez on the ejido side, out about 10k on a dirt road to the plant. Folks in town can simply exchange tanks with the delivery truck. They don't come to Sacbe.
Each morning we had breakfast at Lynn's. In the photo below are myself, Mari, Bill B. and Lynn at breakfast. That's all for now.
