Local Bus or shuttle from Catalonia Playa Maroma

Looking at going into Playa del Carmen for a couple of meetings, anyone know if there is a local bus or a shuttle from resort into town? Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated

They do not have a shuttle and the closest bus stop is in Puerto Morelos. You could take a colectivo if you stand out on the highway but the issue is getting to the highway. The hotel is set way back off the highway, it's got to be about a mile or so from the hotel lobby to the highway, on a skinny road that goes over the mangroves. If you want to walk all the way out, then a colectivo is the least expensive option for getting into Playa. The most convenient way is a taxi from the hotel lobby - $20 one way.

Thank you for the info. Disappointed about the resort not having a shuttle as it does say that there is one available. Live and learn.

Right, they did but...

The complimentary shuttle service to Playa del Carmen will be discontinued effective November 1, 2010.
