Don't remember the cost of the ferry but we had really good luck with a car rental from Isis. I believe you can get to the website with this: islacozumel.net/services/isis/

thanks i did a search and the pricing for the ferry seems to be about $20 for a round trip.
I will check out the rentals from isis, it seems to be the one everyone reccomends.

We were in Playa in January. We took the advice from the other threads concerning this same topic. We did not buy round trip. We went to ferry got one way ticket on ferry taht was leaving next. On the way back bought ticket for ferry headed to Playa next. Much easier in my opinion than booking roundtrip. Allowed us to be more flexible with our day!

Once in Cozumel we followed the simple directions given by someone on the forum and walked right to Isis Car Rental. (These are the directions---Walk straight off Ferry Pier to the back of the town square. Turn left at the 7/11 convenience store, she'll be 1 1/2 blocks down on the right.)

Can't remember the ladies name but she was very nice, informative and gave us a good rate. We were going to get a VW bug but she had just rented the last one so she gave us a Jeep at basically same price. We were very pleased with the service and vehicle!

We used Isis twice..first time VW convertable and second time Jeep...no top.
No problems either time...seems like a good place to deal with
