sunscape tulum

anyinfo or advice on sunscape tulum? went to secrets capri in january and loved it but we would like to go back to the area in july but we are looking for something a little less expensive. beach is our no 1 priority.
good food would be #2. we are just looking for a relaxing getaway. no need for heavy nightlife. good beach, good food, good bed. sunscape tulum looked good from my research but like secrets(which we found absolutely no complaints in january) there are a number of very bad reviews. anyone gone recentlly? any suggestions ? how about akumal?
