Taste of Playa is a culinary event in Playa del Carmen that celebrates the creativity and cultural influences of chefs throughout the Riviera Maya. International culinary festivals are held throughout the world, with each host city highlighting the best and most creative restaurants and retail food outlets that define the culture of the area. The restaurants and food industry have played a major part in the development and definition of the Riviera Maya. This event provides local businesses with an opportunity to showcase the expertise of their talented chefs.
The event is scheduled for November 18, 2012 in the Parque Fundadores from 3 pm to 9 pm. Local businesses and sponsors will support the operations of this food focused event, leaving chefs free to concentrate on the execution of their creations. Government and media support will promote this festival to local residents and tourists alike, inviting everyone to sample creations that normally they may not have the means or opportunity to enjoy.
In the spirit of community, a portion of the event proceeds will be used to assist a not-for-profit food or clean water program in the area. The goal of the committee is to help develop and sustain community based initiatives that have a positive effect on the residents of Playa del Carmen and the Riviera Maya.

Well I looked into flights. $608 per person!

But I spoke to Michael about it over the weekend, and he said "Maybe we can do this, look to see how much vacation you have". That's a good sign, cuz he didn't say "No" right away, like he did last time I asked. Crossing fingers it works out for us!!

Trade ya, my air is just under $1000 each. Thats why i'm looking at cheaper hotels this time. Think Playa Maya is in the lead right now.

Well since this is not until November, I will be on the lookout for lower fares. We are thinking of staying at Aventura Mexicana again if we go by ourselves, otherwise a condo.

Likewise with the airfare.

Requirement for us is beach location and with the included breakfast, don't think i can do the same price as Playa Maya. Top end room is about $1100 for the week tax in

I know there's cheaper ways to go, if have any suggestions while still on the beach, pass it along.

Only one that we know of where people have stayed is Fusion. But we have never stayed on the beach, so I would not know. We've stayed in Playacar and rented a condo in town. Also done Aventura Mexicana and Luna Blue.
