BeachFront @ Gran Porto Real

Has anyone stayed in a beachfront walk out room at the Gran Porto Real in PDC? I am wondering if it is worth the upgrade from an Ocean Front and if you really get a beach bed reserved for you. Thanks for any insight!

We are booked for a beachfront walk out in June. So I am interested in seeing the responses here! I have seen many people comment on their stay at the GPR, but not these rooms specifically.

I would imagine those cabanas/beds right outside those rooms are definitely reserved for the walkout suites, as advertised.

Have you seen the webcam yet? It's positioned near the walkout rooms...take a peek...

Please update after your trip and let me know how you enjoyed your room, the view, privacy, etc!- did you request one king or 2 queen?

We requested two beds, but I think they are just doubles . Would be pleasantly surprised if they were indeed Queen size beds.

We have two kids with us, a 7 and 10 year old. Absolutely NO WAY a King would work!

We thought about doing one of the Family rooms with the bunk beds, but I really wanted the beach front walkout.

And we got a fabulous deal, so it was a no-brainer.

I have not stayed at a beachfront walkout room at the Gran Porto but can tell you that the Ocean Front rooms are awsome!!! We stayed on the second or third floor and the view is amazing!!!! I don't think you will get the view from the walkout rooms but Im sure they are amazing!!! And if you have not stayed at Gran Porto, it's wonderful!! The people there are truly amazing and will make you feel like family! The worse part about Gran Porto is the beach but if you are like us, we just walk up or down to a prettier place lol!! Hope you have a great time!!!

Thanks for taking the time to comment! It's always good to hear positive feedback. I have been feeling a little uncomfortable with our choice (as we have done the condo thing before), but with the two boys, the convenience of the walkout room will be ideal I think. I know the view will be not as good, but that's a trade off I am willing to make for the convenience.

I have heard so many mixed reviews about the GPR, but again - - the AI convenience is key to us this time around with the boys (who eat a ton these days - and all day long!), and to be right on 5th avenue is a huge plus - I cannot wait to have my blueberry margarita at Babe's.

I have also heard very good things about the Oki kids club, and that is also very important to us and the kids are looking forward to it.

Did I mention we got an awesome deal too Thanks Shammy

It really doesnt matter where you stay at the Gran Poro Real it is AMAZING!! we go every year sometimes twice a year. We stay in a room close to the lobby. we are friendly with everyone and just love everything about this place. The food the service and overall atmosphere is like a home away from home. We refuse to even try anywhere else for fear of having a poor time. Enjoy your vacay I am jealous. we go in the winter. It gets me through the rest of the year lol Kim

We have stayed in both the ocean view and a beach front walk out. The actual room interiors are about the same. The bathroom on the walkout room as a little larger and since you are on the 1st floor getting around is easier. So if you are traveling with kids the lst floor room might be worth the upgrade for reasons other than the bed on the beach. You will have a bed by the way they are marked with your room number.

We have stayed at GPR twice and at the Gran in Cancun once. I like the one in PDC more than the Cancun but I have been going to PDC for over ten years. Before we had kids we did a lot of the smaller places but with the kids the IA thing is appealing and in PDC I think the GPR is the best one over all.

Hope this helps.

The covered beds right outside the walk-out rooms are reserved for those rooms, they have the room #'s posted on the beds.
