Playacar beach

According views on Google Earth, there are some kind of big sand bags under water by the beaches. I was told those were to protect beaches from sea erosion. I will be at The Reef Playacar next july and want to know if those nasty things will be still there.
Thanks for your help.

Those pictures were taken in 2008 - no need to worry, the beaches are fantastic now!
