Iberostar Del Mar to PLaya - distance?

How far is it from Iberostar Del mar to PDC.
Is it possible to hike down the beach to PDC from Iberostar?
How far can one hike down the beach from the Iberostar?
I LOVE walking/exploring the beach.
But I think it might be a bit too far to walk.

We are arriving March 6 to the 10th - short but sweet.
I have gotten a lot of good ideas for activities from the board.
But any other tips would be appreaciated.

Best way to spend 4 days at the Iberostar?

Thanks all!

It's pretty far (about a 15 ride on the free shuttle bus, which operates about 10 times per day).

We were stopped by some rocks about 0.5 mile north of the resort. I've heard you can walk pretty far to the south, but we didn't try that direction.

Make sure you make your dinner reservations as soon as you get there, since you are only staying for a short time. Some of the restaurants, especially the Japanese, fill up fast.

Playa would be way to far to walk from IB Paraiso but you can walk for many miles South on mostly people free pristine beach. You will pass the exclusive Maroma Resort and VentaClub Playa Maroma and than it is again nothing but empty beaches until you hit the Maroma Beach Club. It is a very far walk to there so. I loved that part about Maroma Beach because you can really get away from people and swim all alone out to the reef at the South point past the VentaClub where the Reef is very close to shore. If you like long Beach walks you will love it. Bring Water along!!! You might see Mexican Military Man with Machine Guns walk past you along the beach but they are threat and only are looking for drug traffic etc. We said hola with a smile and they smiled back and said hola!
Have Fun!

Along the Ocean there where lots of Pelicans flying by, there are large Iguanas (but they are all over the Yucatan), little Crabs and we saw a Coatimundi running into the bushes when he/she saw us (cute). And we saw a very large Barracuda super close to shore in super clear beautiful water. That was actually pretty close to the IB Resorts where the rocks are in the water to the south of the resorts. I bet he is the resident Barracuda there and he seemd territorial if you know what I mean. He had that look in his eyes.
You will see even more Wildlife right in the Resort Jungle areas and they brought in Animals like Flamingo's, Ostriches, Deer etc. I hear there is a wild Spider Monkey Family living there. The IB seems to take good care of the Animals from what we could see.

VERY cool!
I will remember to leave Mr. Barricuda alone if we see him.
Don't want to ruffle the locals!

thanks again for the info.

Or just take a taxi. We actually took the late bus and had to get a taxi back because the last bus left before we got back. Won't be hard to find a taxi, believe me. They are everywhere, including at the resorts.

Or even better, Rent a car for at least part of the time so you can really explore. Pre-book it in the States as it is way more expensive when you rent from the resort. We rented through Hertz in Playa at their Quinta Avenida Location this time and it is only $19 per day for the smallest car.
