Do we need to stay in/near PDC???

I am driving myself nuts planning this vacation...I know it shouldn't be this hard, but as soon as I make a decision something else comes along! I guess the first thing I need to decide is what area to stay in. I was sure I had to stay near PDC, but am I limiting myself. If you're staying in an AI is it necessary to stay near PDC, we can always take a taxi or something to go shopping and explore the town.

We are looking for: relaxation, night life, great food & drinks, good beach, good pools, oceanview, adult only would be a plus, king beds, purified water. We want to explore ruins and cenotes and try some snorkeling.

We have been looking at the Reef Coco Beach, Barcelo Maya and El Dorado Resort.

Please help me before I just give up and go to San Francisco!

pdc

You certainly don't need to stay near pdc,but if you want nightlife, aside from the shows at the AI's,you want to be near town. Try http://www.ramproductions.com/survey/topres.asp for reviews of hotels, plus the ones on this forum. If you spend an hour or two searching this forum, you will get a good idea of what you would like. Also check out their hotel list, many are very nice and within walking distance of many, many fine restaurants, bars, etc. Playa is the 2nd most beautifull spot for a vacation, don't miss it!![/i]
