Another Marvelous Mexican Adventure

We are off to Puerto Morelos in July for our annual family vacation. It's been a bit of a bumpy ride planning it.

Stumbled on airfare that was $200 less per person than it had been for months on Frontier one day. It was an error and Zung had to call his special Ascent number to get it. They honored the price. Frontier rocks.

Where to stay, where to stay? Of course we all WANTED to go back to the Iberostar Grand, but it was too much dinero. Staying at the Iberostar Maya would have been in the budget, but now that my kids are all "adults" I wanted to pass on the screaming kid experience. Had a really hard time deciding. Then Susie got a new job and it took a long time for her boss to give her an answer and in the end she only got two days off to make a long weekend. Since we leave on a Wednesday and return on a Thursday, she'll have to fly by herself and take the included shuttle to the hotel by herself and back to the airport by herself.

I booked 8 nights instead of the usual 7 so we can volunteer at Angel Notion one day.

I'll be taking my new red patent leather Christian Louboutin's, but the other shoes will have to fight it out for a place in my suitcase.

Check back for a comparison trip report.

Good grief! Do you think it's Freudian that I forgot to mention where we are staying?

And the winner is................Excellence Riviera Cancun in Puerto Morelos (which begs the question, why does it have Cancun as part of its name?)

Looking forward to it. It gets great reviews. And I really, really, really need a vacation.

Looking forward to your July trip report! The only shoes I can think of bringing to PDC are my flip flops. Have a great time!

Patrick and I needed new passports. When I handed over my old one I felt panic at the thought I couldn't hop on a plane and come to Mexico on a whim. Happily, we are both now in possession of our new passports and are good to go for ten years.

23 days to go. Still haven't chosen the other shoes.

I think I have sufferred the wrath of high heels. Used to wear them for trade school, then at the first two places I worked at. Once I had my first daughter, no more! I still put some on from time to time, but now the shoeaholic in my family is my oldest. BUT - they are all sneaker type shoes, no high heels for my tomboy!!

I've started my trip report on my blog
Iberostar Rocks: An Unofficial Guide to Iberostar Paraiso | Iberostar Paraiso: where there are no "shoulds", there is only relaxing.
Unfortunately it wasn't marvelous. It was ok.
