I HAVE NOW SEEN SIGNAGE ON AV. 5 ATTESTING TO THE FACT THAT: DRINKING IN PUBLIC IS NOT LEGAL.
IN OTHERS WORDS, DO NOT CARRY YOUR BEER OR DRINKS AROUND TOWN. DO SO AT YOUR OWN RISK.

PAPA NOEL and his wife Sharon told me that they say the signage in Spanish/English.
If you are going to be a rebel as far as the enforcement of the "old" law, carry "bail" money with you. You know, bailmoney.

LOL, you should see this road sign translation mess up in Wales.... they took an "out of office" message from the bi-lingual person to be the translation they had asked for!!

BBC News - E-mail error ends up on road sign

sorry... slightly off topic, i know! but, hey. it is funny.

I'm fairly confident I already know the answer but I'd rather ask again and be thought a dope than wind up in the hoosegow...

Since Mexican beaches are federally owned, is it ok to have a small cooler with a few beers if we're not directly sitting at a beach club, restaurant, bar, etc?

You could end up doing 2 years in a Mexican jail.

LMAO thank you

I've already had an encounter with a constabulary in a foreign land (not my fault, I might add) and I don't fancy a repeat!
