Is there as much money stolen as we've read about? |

theft at coco beach
I'm not sure what you read. It might have been what I posted. We stayed at the Reef Coco Beach. Our kids had their money stolen from their purses that were in a drawer in their room. They had just put their purses in their room when we got back from shopping. We went to eat and then we came by about an hour later and the cleaning staff were in their room. The kids came in right after they left and checked their purses - they had been completely gone through (cards pulled out of the pockets, etc.) and each had over $100 in them (about $240 stolen). We confronted the cleaning girls who just left - who then said they didn't speak english and looked confused. We then told the hotel manager who did an 'investigation' that lasted the entire week - only to confirm that the cleaning staff were the only people who entered the room during that time and no, they aren't responsible for any theft.
Bottom line - use your room safe to reduce the temptation I suppose. |
