Thanks everyone!

It would have been very hard for us to come on our vacation to the cape this year without having Ixchel here with us- we have so many happy memories of Ramses down here it would have been pretty painful.

Instead, we are making new memories with Ixchel, and can actually smile when we think about Ramses now....

Ixchel is being very good and loves the beach, even if it must be a little cold for her right now!

It's supposed to warm up a bit, though, thankfully...

She loves to dig in the sand, and watching her explore really makes us laugh. She's getting better on a leash, too.
Of course I am taking tons of pictures and will share some soon.

Thank you for posting this wonderful story of little Ixchel.
Can't wait to see more pictures of her. She is already so spoiled. Been in the states a few days, then goes off on vacation. How awesome is that!!

She's a lucky little pup, yes, but we are lucky too.

And yup, she's very spoiled. But she deserves it- she is so well behaved!

I'll definitely post some more pictures later on.

what a cutie pie Ixchel is!! loved reading your trip report along with the pics of you getting her. my dog, Dakota, is 15.5 and i am dreading when it comes time. debating on getting another dog then...but like you said...i don't think i could come home to an empty house.

Ixchel does look like she has border collie in her. Dakota's mom was border collie!! keep posting pics and updates on her.

I must say that I went to your other report to read which I missed at the time you posted. I was at work and had to go to the bathroom and cry for about 15 min. I know Dakota is nearing that time and how can one EVER prepare yourself?? So glad you have Ixchel!!

You know that time will come some day but if your pet is not outwardly showing signs of being sick and the end comes suddenly there's no way to prepare yourself- not like if they are sick for some time and you don't want to see them suffer any longer, which is how it was with our lab Zuni who we had before Ramses....
I still have my moments every day.... but little Ixchel just brings so many smiles to our faces and so much laughter- she is so sweet we miss her if we are away from her for even a short time. We bring her everywhere we can. She went to the drive-in to see Aliens with us last night!

I guess all you can do is enjoy all the time you can with your dear dog....

And I will definitely add some new pics later- I must have taken at least a hundred of Ixchel so far on this vacation!

Ixchel is soooooooooooooooo cute! I think it is a wonderful thing that you did adopting from PPS, she sure looks like a happy pup!
