Let's beat this horse to death one more time

I will be booking a week at Aventura Mexicana next May for me and my husband and I want to book a few days at a hotel on the beach that is relatively inexepensive. I know I've read a million reviews on every hotel, so just give me the dilly on what to book. I'm easy. This is his first trip to Playa and I want him to love it like I do, although he is currently pissing me off with "why do you have to go every year, it's so expensive"......Know what is expensive, buddy, is when I punch you in your face and you need reconstructive surgery...now that shit is expensive....

Fusion!

BTW..Mexico is still cheaper than Florida or anywhere else for what you get. Remind him of that.

Well I am of no help here but the title forced me to look and your post was too funny!

He will love Playa and never harass you again.

If you are going in May you can get some really good deals. The Aventura Mexicana gives a pretty good discount and is a nice place. I stay at the Mimi del Mar and get a pretty decent price IMO for a pretty decent room with a nice ocean view and big balcony. Vista Caribe is a half block off the beach and gives a good deal and will bargain with you.

I have stayed at the Fusion and it was okay. Price was relatively cheap. But unless they have upgraded and given it a very serious cleaning, I am not sure. I drink a lot of beer and the price difference between what they get at the Fusion for drinks and beer makes the room not as big of a bargain.

All Riviera Resort is getting good recent reviews. They occasionally have specials of stay 2 nights get 1 free. I have thought about staying there but I keep getting vetoed by my wife. We pay the price and stay at Playa Maya.

I stayed at Mimi del Mar last month. Got a great rate and 4th night free. I was perfectly happy there. There are some pictures of the room here

Playa Palms. It is bliss and you will save a small fortune getting drinks out of your room fridge instead of a beach bar. (they don't have one) In my opinion, the ground floor rooms are much better. No matter where you stay, Michelle, you'll have fun! See you next May!

I also love Fusion.

Ok, I am looking at staying ten days, May 4 through the 14th, and will do the first seven days at Aventura Mexicana or maybe six or five, then the other at ? Anybody have a link to Playa Palms? I always mix that place up with Playa Maya. I will go trolling around to find a link and pictures and rates of Playa Maya, Fusion, and Mimi del Mar.
I came home from work in a rage (hormonal even though it's not time yet) but now a nice glass of wine and the thought of Playa and all you lovely people have calmed me down tremendously. I'm so calm I could float away on my magic carpet to my happy place. (Dude, what has she been smokin'?)

If I'm seeing correctly, Playa Palms is about $120 per night during May and Mimi del Mar $80 per night?
Please someone convince me of something one way or another. It's hard not actually being at the place seeing it in person. I don't want to spend a lot considering I'll already have spent a week at another place.
Will Mimi del Mar make be good enough for a first time staying on the beach? Or should I just forget the beach and look for something else cute and quaint?
