![]() And if you scuba dive, that's the place for you to be at. There is a very nice dive shop right on the beach. Oh and the hotel is only 10-15 minutes walk from 5th avenue (or $5 by taxi) Enjoy it guys

That'd be great! Thank you! I know it's budget but thats what everyone says about the Reef as well... lol.. and we loved it.. Of course I loved The Gran Porto Real, which was definately not budget and Sandos Playacar to. I think so much of it is what you make of it.. Clean rooms, decent food and we are good to go lol.. We spend very little time at the resort actually and explore by foot, even walked all the way to Plaza las americas one time, lol.. that won't happen again, lol.. I didn't realize how far it was lol.... whew... Can't wait to hear back from ya!

Made it home this morning. Absolutely loved Playa. The Grand Coco is probably about what you think. Room we really loved. It's not uber luxury but very clean and everything we needed. We did upgrade to ocean front, which isn't much, and were so happy we did. Room 2168 is what we had and I think its the best located room for sure. Maybe you can put in a request. I know they can't guarantee you a certain room but being right on the beach literally 20 steps from the water can't be beat! They have a little gate on your balcony on the ground floor ones which was really nice because we were the only ones that had access to our room/bathroom etc while hanging out on the beach. The food was decent, Mexican restaurant was real good, buffet food other than that and to be honest we ate out alot except for breakfast. Only Dos equis for beer, which didn't bother me but some it would I'm guessing. The only complaint I had was they could maybe be friendlier. I don't have any one thing that was rude or anything but any other AI or cruise I have been on it's like you want to take them home with you when you have to leave, just falling over themselves to please you. Seemed like that was missing if that makes sense. I would stay again, ecspecially for the price, and will definitely be back to Playa. I so wish I was still there. Hope that helps Policegirl

THank you Drewbyscooby! I appreciate your information! Was your room away from the disco and the noise?? That's my main concern, being an early to bed early to rise person, lol.... I definately don't expect Gran Porto Real but as long as it's clean and there is food and drinks I think we will manage.. Hopefully next year our budget will be a bit bigger (or prices will be cheaper haha)!!

Yea I requested opposite side of the disco, seemed quiet but I was passed out probably every night anyway. I am an early riser also, beautiful to walk up the beach north and watch the sunrise. I may try the Reef next year just because it would give us a chance to explore the opposite sidee of town. I hear you about budget but I think I'll just add more days if we spend more. I don't need much and the huge places don't excite me all that much. Maybe that is an excuse because I am cheap but I have convinced myself I prefer smaller. If you think of any questions feel free to ask. Have a blast!

Thank you so much! The reef was great for a "budget" as they call it resort.. and I agree.... clean rooms, decent food and a nice beach and I'm good to go... oh.. and friendly service helps... We did love Gran Porto Real, it is just o expensive and the beach area is not as nice as the playacar area but I am serious about their servie, don't think it can be beat!! Glad you had a good time.. two weeks from today and we will be on our way!!
