The Reef Playacar; July 8th-17th, 2011
This will be a beginning of my report.. I haven't had a chance to upload any pictures yet but will soon.
First.. Let me say we have been to Playa 5 times.. Staying previously at Gran Porto Real and Sandos Playacar Beach Resort. This year when looking for our trip those places were just crazy in Price so we decided to go with The Reef in Playacar. ![]() I had read many reviews on tripadvisor and on here and had read both good an bad but knew that we would probably be good no matter.. lol.. Upon our arrival.. check in was a breeze and everyone from the bellboys to the desk clerks were awsome! Going to our room was a beautiful walk, what an amazing beautiful jungle type property!! We had a third floor room with a king size and upon our arrival we had a swan on our bed with flower petals all over the bed... along with chilled champagne and chocolate covered strawberries that had little tuxedos on them. We had a gorgeous yet very private balcony with all the trees that we were sitting in and had a little bird friend that knocked on one of our windows all week... lol... so we would set bread out for him and he was happy...lol.. The buffet was good, yes, it was your typical AI or anywhere else buffet, what can you say about a buffet... really?? lol.. The food was fresh there was something a little bit different and a little bit the same every day for breakfast, lunch and dinner were great... The italian restaraunt I had Chicken Florentine and my husband had a similar thing with Salmon.. it was sooo good!!! And at the grill my husband had some type of fish again, may have been salmon... sorry I don't eat any type of fish or seafood.. ugh... And I had the azul steak or something. I loved my meal and so did he, and the service at both restaraunts was wonderful!! Not to mention the service at the buffet... Fabiola was our waitress most mornings and she was so sweet...I've never seen someone smile that much while working so hard!! The pool bar and snack bar was great and the snack bar was open till 2:00 am in case you got the muchies. We had a continental breakfast in our room one morning that was a deliciouos spread of fruits and bread and coffee and juice and it was actually enough for two days breakfast!! We had a couples massage at the spa... ahhhhh... what more do I need to say.. I didn't want to leave.. The ice cream bar was closed until the day before we left but I finally got to eat a few scoops of the coconut icecream and it was awsome!!! Our room was clean and well cleaned every single day I couldn't have asked for anything more honestly... I will say.. to stay at this resort you need to be in shape..lol.. or at least for us by the 10th night on the third floor i was tired of the stairs...lol.. But I loved the way the roooms were arranged in like bungalow styles of three floor with only four room per floor. Loved the fack that you didn't hear the "hall" noise like you do in typical hotels. Well.. More on my report with pics to follow... ate at some great places met some wonderful new friends and hated to come home!! Will definately consider The Reef Playacar again!!! It was wonderful!! |
