I was stunned when he said he wasn't running for Pres in 2008. I, too, thought he was a very attractive candidate for all the reasons you listed; plus he has both legislative and executive experience. Not bad on the eyes, either.
I wonder if he is just staying out of the early scrum, and may jump in later?
