California Wine Peep Meet: the 3rd Annual Event

Sitting out on John and Syl's porch. Kathy is with me looking at photos and sipping her first cuppa coffee.

We had another delightful day yesterday - three new wineries, good food, good times with peeps.

Obviously the title needs fixed. Can't evev blame it on auto correct

We are at the Burbank airport waiting for the flight home. For Kathy and I it was a four act trip.

1. San Francisco Bay area

2. Train ride to and time in Paso Robles wine-tasting and living the RV life at the Wine Country RV Resort.

3. Travel to and attendance at the 3rd Annual CA Peep Wine and Tequila Meet

4. Travel to the greater LA area, beach day, more Bonnyritas and spa, and this morning's departure back home.

Once we get home I may have a photo or two worth posting

We have photos

Goddess do we have photos.

I am going to post some here now, and I am also going to make our trip to the Bay area (immediately before the Meet) a separate report.

We arrived in Los Olivos on Friday and almost immediately went wine tasting. John (of John and Syl) has a limo business. If you go there, use it. It is great.

Here are most of us standing at the limo

At Demetria Winery

A beauty through a wineglass, clearly

We're home! Hotter here in Oregon than it was in California when we left today.

First off... What a great time. Between wineries, breweries, campfires, grilling, bocce ball and beaches I feel like it was a 2 week vacation in 4 days.

I have a list of favorite moments and places too long to name so I'll give you #1.

Driving through a long winding road in John and Syl's limo and having lunch at Demetria Vineyards. (The 3rd vineyard of the day.) You can't tell in that photo but it was on top of this bluff overlooking rolling hills covered in grape vines and oak trees. A lunch that Syl set up and wine and music while taking in the view was so relaxing. That scenery will stay in my mind's eye forever. I enjoyed the wine too. (Until the next leg of the limo ride.) Fig Mountain Brewery. Then we were in MY world.

What a great peepmeet! We also have pictures, but we are still doing laundry and trailer/truck cleaning, so it might be a couple of days. Those folks that have pictures, please post them.

I'll probably post some more this evening.

Still have to do another thread for the Bay Area segment of the trip

Here we are at the Curtis Winery, where they have Rhone-Style Wines from Santa Barbara County.

We had a private tasting in our own big barrel room.

Prices were good, and there is some in the home collections of some of us.
