Iberostar Quetzel questions
We will be at the Iberostar Quentzel in December 2011. Can anyone give me somefeed back on this resort? Are there a lot of younger children here. How is the beach, smooth sand, clear water? Will be traveling with two adult children so hopefully a lot to do.

stayed there last summer with 4 older kids ages 18-23. They loved it. Beach was great and so was the pool. Lots to do on site and if they're bored can always go into Playa or an excursion. You've made a great choice. Also they have the best ice cream I've ever had.

We stayed there in March this year. There aren't as many family and family activities as at a bigger resort -- compare to Sandos next door. However I am sure you will enjoy it.
Food was great. Sand & Beach was great. Don't have anything bad to say. Take BUBBA cups to make less trips to the bar. Take ear plugs for night time sleeping (lots of wildlife in the resort) Go and Enjoy! |

Been there 3 times and waitin' for the fourth.
Great place, few childrens (very few). Beach changed a lot due the erosion in these 10 years but now it looks good. Sand is smooth, water has some unbelievable colours (take a look at it around noon from the beach restaurant and you'll see). Most important thing: water has no rocks. You'll have a blast |

We came home after 8 days one year on thanksgiving eve and the place was covered up with younger children. So, I really believe it depends on when you go. Barry |

Don't know why i can't find any better shot of quetzal's beach... but in this one you can see what i mean with "beatiful sea colours".

![]() If you're going in early December, it's low season and most kids are in school. However, this is a very family friendly resort and is marketed to families so there will still be kids there - below school age and grade school age that the parents have pulled out of school for the week. But it shouldn't be overrun with kids. Now if you're going during Xmas, say any time after 12/20 or so, the resort will be packed with families and children. The closer to Xmas you get, the more kids there will be.

We took our nieces who were teenagers they loved it . This resort is great have stayed here several times and plan on going back. There is no reef to snorkel from the beach in front of the resort however south of the resort there is a great place to walk for miles and do some snorkeling which was ok but not great

We were there six years ago, great place. Good food, fabulous landscape (a little dark on the paths at night, perhaps a flashlight would be a good idea), a nice array of wildlife.
We loved it. Very nice beach, not too many rocks in the water if I remember right. We've been to three Iberostars, all terrific if you like AIs. |

We have been there 2 times (Jan 08 & Feb 10) and absolutely love it! We went without children the first time and had a group of 10 adults. The second time we took our children who were 14 and 17 along with cousins who were 14 and 9. The teenagers love it....they were able to wonder around the resort and it was completely safe. The 9 year old did some of the resort activities with the childrens group but there were only a few younger children there. The beach was much better when we went in '10 and from recent pictures the beach looks even better! We are going back in feb, 2012 for an adults only trip again. Looking forward to it!!

![]() We have stayed there several times with kids of all ages. Everybody seems to find something they really like about the place. As far as the sand and water? Picture a Corona commercial. That's what makes you come back. |
