Steve is partial to Pummarola, which I think is just too doughy and plain. But he did say he really liked this pizza.

I love when I get to the back end of a slice, and the edge crust is full of poofy holes and breaks up like a cracker.

the crust was thin, but not crunchy crackery thin
it had a little chewiness, which i like

i agree with sue on the burned crusty goodness on the edges

these guys make a nice pie, i hope they beat the odds and remain open

Is this the same Pummarola that is/was near Mahekal? I remember eating at a restaurant by a similar name during our last trip, but thought I heard that it had closed.

Are they in a new location now or is it a different restaurant altogether?

From the sounds of it, there are going to be a lot more dining options close to Mahekal when we come back next month. Last time we were there (2008), I remember it just being pretty much Pummarola and La Cueva del Chango!
