From the sounds of it, there are going to be a lot more dining options close to Mahekal when we come back next month. Last time we were there (2008), I remember it just being pretty much Pummarola and La Cueva del Chango!
the Pummarola that was near Mahekal is closed down. the new location is on 24th between 5th and 10th. i ate there in May with Snappy and i enjoyed it...although i didn't have pizza.

FYI: The Pummarola on Flamingos and calle 40 has been closed for about 2 or more years.
The Pummarola on calle 24 between AV. 5 & 10 is not new.
And dinner with Snappy I think that puppy is going to take.

Oh poo...Era Ora was like my very favorite pizza place and the location was perfect to where we usually stay ....guess I'll be venturing over to Mille Voglia but it's quite a bit farther.

Great, thanks for the clarification. I remember enjoying our meal there in 2008 and am glad to see they are still in Playa.

The dining scene has changed around 5 th and 38. There are more places now but they seem to open/close and change often. someone else stated the area is still a few years away from being built up and having a more stable business base.

I did notice that...when I first booked this trip way back in April, I started making a list of all the new restaurants in that area...and now that it's less than a month away (hooray! ) I am seeing that several of the places I thought we would check out have since closed. The restaurant biz is not an easy one...that's for sure.

If you have Google Chrome, you can set up your options to translate pages into English.
