^We chose to spend the night in Palenque and visit the ruins the following afternoon. We rolled into town about 3am and discovered a restaurant that was still serving food (and beer). Afterwards, we found this fairly nice hotel at a discounted rate and slept in til nearly 10am.
^Caught a quick breakfast at this restaurant before making our way to the ruins
^Entrance fee to the ruins was less than $10 per person, plus a tiny fee to enter the Archeological Zone.
^Everyone especially loved the waterfall seen here behind Liz and Joe. The falling water then collected into several cascading and descending pools. We could have spent the whole day in this area because it was so peaceful.
^For a supposedly poor state, the roads in Chiapas were some of the best in Mexico.
^This was a pretty common sight, although we preferred being behind a bus.
^Several locations where we saw these birds roosting in a tree... quite a sight to see.
^Half of our driving was done at night... when we switched off our high beams (all 6) we were blind.
^Stopped for a quick bite at this restaurant in Escarcega after filling the tank and loading up with goodies at OXXO.
^Someone got a brand new drum set at Bad Boys in Playa del Carmen.
^Even K-9s love Bad Boys... saw this dog later at the Beer Bucket.
This pooch is the new mascot at Hotel Maya Bric.
^My son James caught this relaxed couple standing next to the Beer Bucket.
^While out scouting locations for the Peepfest Bar Crawl, Andrea and I met these Australian gals.
Argh Captain... where's your ship?
Guess who was drinking on my tab?
^Voga Music House is a new place on Calle 10 next to the Kinbe Hotel.
^Another perfect day at El Paraiso (Nuddy) Beach Club.
^Wow... the Beer Bucket by day, just after it opened.
